KLEINBERG FAMILY

GENERATION #1

1. BERNARD KLEINBERG was born in Austria in February 1863. He married Mary Stickler. She was the daughter of David Stickler and was born in January 1863. Bernard Kleinberg was naturalized in Philadelphia on October 8th, 1887. In his naturalization petition, he states that he arrived in New York on the 30^th of June 1881. According to the 1900 Census, Bernard Kleinberg came to America in 1882 and Mary Kleinberg came in 1884. I have not been able to verify any of this information on their arrival in America. Also according to the 1900 Census, they were married in 1884. Bernard Kleinberg lived in Philadelphia and worked as a hatter. He died on the 12^th of November, 1905. His residence at the time of his death was 2227 William St. in Philadelphia. Mary Kleinberg died September 15, 1943. They are buried in Har Nebo Cemetery in Philadelphia.

3. SAMUEL KLEINBERG was born December 10, 1886 in Philadelphia, he lived there his entire life. He married Mathilda "Tillie" Moeller on April 8, 1916 in Elkton, MD. She was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Beltz) Moeller and was born on January 27, 1888 in Philadelphia. Samuel Kleinberg worked for many years as a hatter at Stetson’s. Due to loose labor laws, Stetson was bought out so the new owners could pocket the large pension fund. Subsequent to this and similar buy-outs, the laws were changed to protect pension funds, unfortunately, this law was enacted too late for him. He did receive a gold watch and many hats for his fifty plus years of service. Samuel and Tillie had one child. Tillie Kleinberg battled tuberculoses for the last seven years of her life, finally succumbing on January 13, 1931. She is buried in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. Samuel Kleinberg died on March 16, 1975 and is buried in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Philadelphia.

4. ISADORE² KLEINBERG (BERNARD ¹) was born on March 29, 1889 in Philadelphia. He married Hannah Frances Unger on Oct 8, 1916 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Phillip and Josephine (Litten) Unger, and was born July 16, 1890 in _____. They had three children. Isadore Kleinberg died on June 25, 1977 in Philadelphia and is buried in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA.. Frances Kleinberg died Feb, 1976 in Philadelphia and is buried in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA.

5. MOLLIE² KLEINBERG (BERNARD ¹) was born on December 23, 1890 in Philadelphia. She married Morris Stern. He was the son of Harry and Sarah (_____) Stern and was born in Russia. They had three children. Morris Stern died on May 1969 in Wildwood, NJ. Mollie Stern died on August 26, 1983 in Philadelphia (?) and is buried in Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA

6. HENRY² KLEINBERG (BERNARD ¹) was born on November 23, 1894 in Philadelphia. He married Estelle (Stella) Pollacheck on June 29, 1919 in New York City. She was the daughter of Ignatius Pollacheck and Henrietta Schiff. She was born on 11 July, 1894 in ____. They had 2 children. Henry died in Jan 1977 in New York City. Stella died in Oct 1974 in New York City.
